This cranberry orange salsa recipe is flavorful, unique, and so easy to make! Versatile enough to serve up at both your next taco night and at the Thanksgiving table.
This cranberry orange salsa is going to surprise you. With just 8 ingredients and a food processor or high powered blender, you can have this salsa ready in no time.
I don't usually make my own salsa. While it can be hard sometimes to find paleo or Whole30 compliant salsa options in the store (most brands add sugars and chemicals/preservatives), there are a few out there that are my go-tos.
But there's something about fresh salsa that didn't come out of a jar, isn't there? You can tell the difference when you're eating fresh salsa. I had been craving a fresh salsa recipe, and when I was challenged to come up with a unique recipe for frozen cranberries, I decided to experiment by putting the two together. I'm so glad I did!
It has a genuine salsa flavor, while being a little bit tart and a little bit tangy. If you served it at your next taco night without telling people what it was, I bet you a dollar that at least one person would say,
"What is in that? I recognize it but I can't place it."
My favorite part about this recipe is that it does not have to be reserved for taco night. It's the salsa of opportunity!
Some ways you can use this salsa:
- on a chip
- on or alongside a mild fish, as a chutney/relish topping
- as a substitute for cranberry relish at the Thanksgiving table
- on top of your eggs or huevos rancheros at breakfast
And if you're not sure about how well received it will be at Thanksgiving, but still want something a little different, try my more traditional Cranberry Orange Relish! It's always a hit at Thanksgiving and we rarely have leftovers.
This recipe uses frozen cranberries from Cape Cod Select, which is a small women-owned family business. The Rhodes family has been growing cranberries on their 800 acre cranberry farm for more than 75 years and is now in its fourth generation.
I love supporting small businesses & family businesses, but I also care about where my food comes from and what it's treated with. Cape Cod Select cranberries are grown to some of the industries highest standards and are Non-GMO verified.
And if that weren't enough, Cape Cod Select also has a focus on sustainability - powering its facilities primarily with solar power and using better growing practices on their farm.
I'd say they're knocking it out of the park, wouldn't you?
As with any fresh produce, cranberries are not in season year round. Being able to buy Cape Cod Select cranberries frozen makes it easy to make cranberry recipes at any time of the year! You can find their frozen cranberries in a store or order them online.
